Welcome to the Gospel Martial Arts Union in Edinburgh

We offer a free self-defence class open to all adults from 6:00-7:00 PM every Thursday. Our kids classes run concurrently from 6:00-7:00 PM every Thursday so families may learn together. While we are a Christian martial arts organisation, we welcome people from all faiths or none. We also offer a discipleship programme for those who want to dedicate their time to teach and inspire others while learning more advanced martial arts. Below is our Kyohkai Pledge and Student Creed which is recited at the beginning of every class. This is our prayer to God to prepare our minds for learning and our bodies for action.

Kyohkai Pledge

I shall:

  • Maintain Propriety, Etiquette, Dignity and Grace
  • Search for the pure principles of Truth, Being, Justice and Beauty through the diligent study of God’s Word
  • Exercise Positive Personality, Confidence, Courage and Determination through the Work of the Holy Spirit
  • Gain understanding by tasting the true meaning of Budo which is the Way of the Spiritual Warrior
  • Always seek to develop the character further, aiming towards Perfection and Complete Harmony with God through His Son, Jesus Christ

Student Creed
